Information for Parents

If your child is already a member of The Boys' Brigade or is thinking of joining then read on to find out a little more . . .

Firstly, welcome to the BB family, your child is now part of the one million children and young people around the world who are members of The Boys' Brigade.
In the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland your child will be part of an organisation with over 65,000 young people in over 1500 Companies.
Did you know? The Boys' Brigade has been going for over 125 years, and so we have a proven track record that you can trust. Millions of children and young people have been involved in The Boys' Brigade at some point in their lives!

About Our Work
BB, above all, seeks to make a positive contribution to the lives of young people through the programme of activities that we offer young people.
Our programmes are balanced to provide every child and young person opportunities to take part in a wide range of activities, learn new skills and develop existing skills. You can find out more about the particular programme your child is involved in by checking out our Section pages.
Above all BB is fun, exciting, and safe.

Who can join?
BB is open to all children and young people aged from 5 to 18 of any faith and background.

Our Leaders
The Boys' Brigade enjoys an excellent reputation for providing a safe environment for its children and young people to enjoy activities. All our adult leaders follow clear safety guidelines and undertake training appropriate to their role.
We also encourage our volunteer leaders to undertake further training throughout their time in the BB to enhance their skills and understanding of children’s and youth work.
All of our leaders go through a procedure of registration and as part of this will complete a Criminal Record Disclosure Check.

Any questions?
Should you have any questions you should first speak to your local leaders, but if you feel you would like to speak to someone else you are welcome to contact our UK Headquarters on 01442 231 681 or enquiries@boys-brigade.org.uk.
